Gig and Platform Workers: What the Labour Codes Entitle You To

The Code on Social Security defines you, registers you and sets up a fund for you. A year on, no scheme has been notified under section 114, no contribution rate has been fixed, and the only state collecting the money is having it held by a High Court. What is yours now, what is promised, and what the codes do not cover.

How these guides are written

Primary sources, not summaries

Figures come from the organisation that published them — the regulator, the bank’s own rate card, the filing, the Act. Where a number could not be verified, the guide says so instead of estimating.

The arithmetic is shown

Worked examples are calculated, not illustrated, and every table states the assumptions behind it so you can redo the sum with your own numbers.

Dated, and revisited

Each guide carries the date it was last checked rather than the date it first appeared, and corrections are published on the guide itself.
